Vintage 1960s Maxine’s of Pittsburg Silk Brocade Jacket w/ Fur Collar

Vintage 1960’s Maxine’s of Pittsburgh; Silk Brocade Cocktail Jacket with Mink Fur Collar and Trim -which still has all the luster.  The jacket, has three toggle closure’s, affix with some jewels, gold tone beads, and corded silk threads in black and gold with two front slit pockets. In addition to the toggles closures, it has 6 snaps inside of the jacket, see last picture (toggles & snaps) picture was lighten for reviewing. This jacket is truly stunning in colors of Gold, Teal, Brown, Olive with a hint of Green. It was not listed as an iridescent jacket. But, when viewing, one angle looks completely gold and another angle looks teal/gold in certain areas. Inside of jacket is completely lined in dark green 100% acetate. No holes, tears, stains or discoloration. The tag list size14, by todays standards I would say a size 6/8, but please review measurements listed below. This jacket is very festive, in style and perfect for the holiday’s! Excellent Vintage.

• Waist: 19″
• Hips: 20.5″
• Coat Length: 34.5″ (shoulder to hemline)
• Shoulder to Shoulder 15″
• Sleeve Length: 21″

History for Maxine’s Pittsburgh: Maxine’s (clothing) was listed in 1930s in Pittsburgh City Directory. Maxine’s, was formed by the Azen family, Hyman Azen was the manager and the store was located at 408 6th Avenue Downtown Pittsburgh. Even though the name “Maxine’s” is still active, they are no longer in business. Maxine’s  seem to have gone out of business by the late 1960s. The Azen family had many business in Pittsburgh.
