History of Luis Estevez: (b. 1930-2014)  Born to a privileged background in Cuba in 1930, Estévez studied architecture in Havana but switched to fashion after spending a summer job as a window dresser for Lord & Taylor department store in New York. After study at the Traphagen School of Fashion, New York, he left for Paris and found work at the house of Patou for two years. This experience in Parisian couture was to influence his creative approach to design for the rest of his life. In 1955, he began designing under his own name Grenelle-Estevez which lasted until 1968. Mr. Estevez dressed First Lady Betty Ford when Gerald Ford was in office, Princess Grace of Monaco, Natalie Wood and Zsa Zsa Gabor just to name a few.  In 1972, he began designing under a label for actress Eva Gabor and at the sane time designing for Universal Studios, he retired from designing in 1997. But, continue to design for private clients of the Hollywood elite. Mr. Luis Estevez died at his home in Miami at the age of 85, one week before is 86th birthday. His collections are just fabulous!!
