SOLD–Vintage 1970’s Mollie Parnis Boutique Couture Chocolate Penne Velvet Feathered Evening Gown
Vintage 1970’s; Mollie Parnis Boutique, Couture feathered dress. This Chocolate brown dress has a mock neck covered with feathers, a polka dot flocked penne sheer velvet overlay on top of 100% silk lining and a 3″ribbon waist with 4 hook and eye fasteners. It has long sheer sleeves with feather cuffs a circle skirt and a back hook and eye at top of a 23″ nylon zipper closure with snap in middle. Mollie Parnis Boutique label. Excellent Vintage condition. No holes,tears,snags of discoloration. Would be happy to supply additional pictures.
Measurements were taken lying flat; Actual: Bust 34″, Waist 26″, Hips 42″, Shoulder to Shoulder 14″ Length 54″, Sweep 58″ Sleeve Length 21″ (not including 3″ feathers at sleeve).
History of Mollie Parnis: She began as a designer for David Westheim in the 1920’s. In 1933 she and her husband Leon Livingston formed Parnis-Livingston which she was the designer. By the the 1940’s she was designing under her own name only. The Parnis Boutique label was launched in 1970’s. Herbert Latimer, who had design for Irene, Charles Cooper and Christian Dior NY, headed her couture or high end division.
