Vintage 1940’s Incredibly Beautiful, is this gorgeous Black Skunk Fur Jacket. My go to furrier company, states that the pelts for its age are in great condition. I trust their expertise explicitly! Fur still has all the deep glossy luster and shine. Jacket has 1 hook and eye just above the breast area for closure, and the front on inside seam has one lined pocket small in size. Jacket sleeve stops above the wrist and length of jacket stops above the hip area. Jacket is fully lined. As noted in pictures, the neck area does have some wear to it (please review pictures), aside from that, the coat is Excellent to Good Vintage condition (due to neck wear). It does not have a label or size. So please review measurements provided below. If you would like more pictures I will be happy to provide. Jacket has been professionally cleaned by Furrier. No tears, or holes. Lining is solid, with a slight discoloration at neck back!!
History on Skunk Fur: Back in the 40’s, Skunk fur was known as the “Poor Women’s monkey fur and was an economical alternative for women of moderate means!! It was very popular during the time period.
Measurements of garment were taken lying flat. Please double: Bust 18″, Waist 19″. Actual: Shoulder to Shoulder 13 1/2″, Sleeve length 18″, Shoulder to hemline 24”.
