Vintage 1940 RARE Mink Coat by Iconic Daniel & Fisher Store.Please review all pictures and read information as it is quite interesting. The coat is Exquisite and Stunning. Excellent Vintage Condition for its age!!! Their are no holes, tears, rips or cracks in pelts! I have stored in cold storage since I’ve owned it and that has been over 15 years and never wore it. For the age of coat it has minimal wear and the luster is still incredibly vibrant.This is truly an amazing coat. The color is a Brownish Red or by industry standards a Red Glow.The elongated coat has no shoulder pads. Has 2 pockets not on side, more towards front.The neck line is slightly rounded with a hook & fastener at top and middle of coat.The sleeves are cuffed underneath with a tapered cuff at end of sleeve.
There are 2 different pieces associated with coat: 1: It has a detachable collar,which is lined and finished with decorative trim. Also, there is an adjuster on collar to loosen or tighten.Lastly, the collar has a beautiful cording (silk-nylon) design on both ends which drop off into tassels. Length of collar end to end 42″. #2: The muff is lined. Measurements are 14″ length, 12″ Width with a 6″ strap.
Measurements for coat. Please Double: Bust 21″, Waist 23″, Hips 25″. Actual Shoulder to Shoulder 17″, Sleeve length is 22″ add with bottom cuff for 26 1/2″ total. Shoulder to hemline of coat is 44″.
History of Daniels & Fisher Company: It was Denver’s prestigious department store and the most elegant for the first half of the twentieth century. It was founded in 1864. It was the place to see and be seen.Then in 1957 David May (Original May company founder) merged with the newly acquired Daniels & Fisher. The new May-D&F opened its doors in 1958. For 129 years D&F/May D&F proudly served the mile high city. Just think of the number of people that saw this beautiful Fur!
