History of Louis Vuitton was a French trunk-maker (malletier) and businessman who founded his legendary luxury fashion house in 1854 on Rue Neuve des Capucines in Paris. Prior to establishing his own label, he was appointed as personal trunk-maker to Empress Eugénie de Montijo, the wife of Napoleon III.
Today, the brand is one of the world's leading international fashion houses, owned by LVMH. The iconic LV monogram remains globally recognized, adorning products ranging from luxury leather goods and shoes to signature trunks.
