This incredible vintage 1950s ensemble from Gray Rose House of Fashion is a stunning piece of history. The set includes a royal blue satin dress and a matching swing jacket, both with impeccable quality.
The jacket features a large rounded Peter Pan collar, full-length sleeves, and pleats at the back of the shoulders. It is beautifully embroidered with orange, purple, and green floral and bow motifs. The matching sleeveless dress has a scoop neckline, a gathered bust, a sash waist, and a pleated skirt with the same embroidered accents.
Both garments have a "Gray Rose House of Fashion" cloth label on the lining. The dress closes with a 19" back metal zipper with two hook-and-eye closures (one at the top and one in the middle), while the jacket has a single hook-and-eye closure at the neck.
Condition:
The ensemble is in very good to excellent vintage condition, with no holes, tears, or discoloration to the outer material. The dress is spotless, despite an optical illusion in photo #2. The inside lining of the swing jacket has some slight discoloration at the back of the neckline and bottom hem (see photos #8 and #9), but the lining remains solid.
Sizing:
The mannequin is a size 6, but the dress fits closer to a modern size 2. Please refer to the provided measurements for the most accurate fit. Additional photos and information are available upon request.
