Step into the summer season with a touch of artistic elegance! This vintage 1970's dress, skillfully designed by Evelyn Margolis for Hilo Hattie, is a unique departure from the typical Hawaiian prints associated with Hilo Hattie's designs. Featuring a captivating abstract pattern in vibrant hues of Orange, Black, White, and Marigold, this dress is perfect for leisurely summer days, resort getaways, or your next vacation.

The sleeveless design and bias-cut skirt, which gracefully drapes with a generous 53" sweep, enhance comfort and style. The dress also boasts five fabric-covered buttons down the front, a 5" wide collar, and a matching 3" wide, 65" long sash/belt. Crafted from 100% Polyester, it's as durable as it is beautiful.

Though tagged as a Size 16, we recommend referring to the precise measurements provided below for an accurate fit. This vintage gem is in outstanding condition, free from any tears, stains, or discoloration, making it a true collector's piece.

History: Hilo Hattie, known for its association with Hawaiian tourism, traces its origins to James S. Romig, who opened the first store, "Kaluma Hawaii Sportswear," in 1963 on the island of Kauai. To fuel its growth, Pomare, Ltd., acquired the Margolis Manufacturing and Retail Company in Hilo in 1979. The Margolis family, partners with Hawaiian entertainer Clarissa Haili (aka Hilo Hattie) since 1971, developed the Hilo Hattie clothing line. This brand became iconic, with its namesake inspired by Haili's renowned song and dance number, "When Hilo Hattie Does the Hilo Hop." Today, Hilo Hattie continues to be a cherished part of Hawaiian culture, offering vibrant island-inspired fashion.
