Absolutely captivating! This signed vintage Miriam Haskell pendant from the 1970s is a rare find, exuding chic boho elegance. A meticulously sculpted maroon/burgundy rose blooms from a unique green glazed ceramic disc, all embraced by an ornate gold-tone casing. The necklace strings in Pink & Green have a leather-like feel, likely due to a wax coating that gives the cord a slightly stiffer and more substantial texture similar to thin leather. The first signature, is stamp to the Coupling Device (known as "Slide Clasp"). The signature that was stamped on the hang tag came through on the other side making it reversed and a double stamp signature. This tag was used from early 50s until the late 70s
Side Note: The Couple Device (known as "Slide Clasp") was designed by J.R. Johnston in February 1969 and the patent number 3,427,691 is stamped on the back (pictured below).

History Miriam Haskell 1899-1981; Ms. Haskell set up her jewelry boutique business in 1926 in New York City, in the Mc Alpin Hotel. She brought in creative partner Frank Hess that same year (and that story is a whole other story). Her designs were worn by Joan Crawford, Lucille Ball, Gloria Vanderbilt and Duchess of Windsor. It is said that Crawford owned almost every set Haskell produced, from the 1920s-1960s.
