History: Founded in Southern California in 1975 by Los Angeles businessmen Barry Sacks, Mark Steinman, and Jay Balaban, Chorus Line got its name as a sweet nod to their wives' shared passion for dance. Despite launching during a notoriously turbulent era for the retail industry, the brand grew into one of the most successful moderately priced apparel companies in the United States.

The company's most visible and successful line was All That Jazz, a premier juniors brand that defined style for women in their 20s and 30s throughout the 1980s and 1990s. By 1999–2000, a Los Angeles Business Journal article praised Chorus Line as one of the absolute best apparel companies in the business. Refreshed with new designers and a bold new attitude, Chorus Line proudly sustained a thriving presence in fashion for over three decades.

Chorus Line later introduced the Molly Malloy label, with both lines placing a strong emphasis on sophisticated "after-five" and formal dresses.
